PEAKS Community Guidelines
University of North Georgia (UNG) Evergreen Learning proudly presents Personal Enrichment, Action and Knowledge Series (PEAKS). PEAKS is designed to be a welcoming, engaging, and respectful learning community for adults who enjoy connection, conversation, and lifelong learning. To help ensure a positive experience for everyone, we ask all participants to observe the following community expectations.
Be welcoming and respectful
Please treat fellow participants, speakers, volunteers, and staff with courtesy and kindness. PEAKS brings together people with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and we want everyone to feel comfortable and included.
Support a positive learning environment
We encourage thoughtful questions, discussion, and participation. Please allow speakers and fellow participants to be heard, avoid side conversations during presentations, and help us maintain an environment that is enjoyable and engaging for all.
Honor differing perspectives
PEAKS programs may include a variety of topics and viewpoints. We ask participants to listen respectfully, engage constructively, and avoid comments or behavior that could be disruptive, dismissive, or unkind.
Be considerate of shared space
Please help us take good care of our meeting spaces by arriving on time when possible, following check-in procedures, silencing phones during presentations, and being mindful of food, beverages, and personal belongings.
Respect volunteers and staff
Our volunteers and staff are here to help create a smooth and welcoming experience. Please treat them with patience and appreciation as they assist with check-in, seating, event logistics, and participant questions.
Help us keep PEAKS safe and comfortable
Behavior that is harassing, threatening, discriminatory, repeatedly disruptive, or otherwise inconsistent with the spirit of PEAKS may be addressed by program staff. Our goal will always be to resolve concerns respectfully while protecting the experience of the broader group.
Share concerns appropriately
If you have a question, concern, or suggestion, please share it with Evergreen Learning staff so we can respond thoughtfully and appropriately. We value participant feedback and want PEAKS to continue improving. Our email address is: evergreenlearning@ung.edu
Thank you for helping make PEAKS a warm, respectful, and vibrant community for lifelong learning.
